Senior Advisor Governance - ICAC


Our client, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), is a key institution in Papua New Guinea dedicated to preventing, reducing, and combating corruption within public offices. The ICAC operates under the Organic Law on the Independent Commission Against Corruption 2020 (OLICAC).

Job Overview

The Senior Advisor Governance will provide expert advice on governance systems, risk management, and compliance to ICAC's senior management. This role involves developing high-quality governance practices, promoting transparency,
accountability, and ethical conduct across the organisation, and ensuring the effective implementation of governance policies.


Key Responsibilities
 
  • Policy Development & Implementation: Develop and standardize internal policies, processes, and systems. Research best practices and align ICAC governance with industry standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with laws, prepare necessary reports, and keep the organization aligned with national and international governance standards.
  • Risk Management: Carry out risk analysis and create risk management strategies, including conflict of interest management.
  • Ethics & Integrity: Promote a strong ethical culture, implement whistleblowing and anti-corruption policies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with stakeholders to promote governance best practices, ensuring transparent communication across the organization.
Job Requirements:


Essential Criteria:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with experience in policy development, risk analysis, and governance systems.
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption legislation, including the OLICAC, Whistleblowers Act, and related policies.
  • Strong research, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
