Senior Assessor -ICAC


Our client, ICAC, is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team as a Senior Assessor. The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) plays a critical role in preventing, reducing, and combating corruption within Papua New Guinea, ensuring transparency and integrity across all levels of government.

Job Overview:

The Senior Assessor is responsible for managing and assessing complaints and reports of suspected corrupt conduct in accordance with ICAC mandate. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the proper handling of complaints, maintaining transparency, and fostering public trust.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Complaint Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for new complaints, ensuring they are registered, categorized, and processed in an impartial, transparent, and timely manner.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Analyze information and prepare reports for senior management, ensuring proper communication and follow-through on complaints.
  • Procedure Development: Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for assessing and managing complaints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key partner agencies, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies, to share information and collaborate on investigations.
  • Risk Management: Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks related to complaints and corruption allegations.
  • Ethical Practices: Maintain strict confidentiality and promote an ethical organizational culture aligned with ICAC’s values.
Job Requirements:


Essential Criteria:
 
  • Formal qualifications in criminal or administrative investigations or experience in assessing and handling complaints are highly desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in investigations, intelligence, law enforcement, forensic accounting, or a related field is preferred
  •  At least 5 years of experience in a regulatory, law enforcement, or investigative environment, preferably within the Papua New Guinea public service.

Knowledge & Skills:
 
  • Strong understanding of investigation and law enforcement processes.
  • Expertise in managing complaints and handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with the public and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in standard software applications and computer literacy.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to the ICAC’s goals and Code of Conduct.
