General Purpose:
As a Graduate Mine Engineer, you would report directly to the Technical Services Superintendent/Senior Engineer and you will be trained on the job and be attached to Mining Operation for at least 6 Months to understand the actual mining. You will be required to assist and assume the duties and responsibilities normally associated with such a position, which will include the following broad duties and responsibilities, however your duties and responsibilities are not limited to only these as such a position needs to react and adapt to daily circumstances as they arise.

•  Employee’s ability to perform the duties of a senior mining engineer with respect to the daily supervision and direction of subordinates within the three functions of the department
•  A good understanding of the safe work practices on the mining operations in general
•  A good understanding of the correct or proper procedures for pre-shift inspections and housekeeping within the mine (mine site & underground) and the ML 150 as a whole
•  Ability to maintain good communication and understanding with other functions of the mine technical services, mine operations and other service departments at K92
•  Vigilant in ensuring competence in the technical support given to the mine operations production team
•  Honesty, reliability and trustworthiness in enforcing a high level of interpersonal relations with both peers and subordinates in delivering production plans. No short cuts
•  Regular and open verbal communication with supervisors and on progress and proficiency of work done
•  Adhere to safety and PPE, instructions and requirements 
•  Carry out all duties in a timely manner & completion of tasks
•  Cleanliness of work areas, personal cleanliness and presentation, including wearing of company PPE uniform at all times
•  Co-operation and duty of care (safety) with fellow workmates
•  Attendance, punctuality and leave of work stations
•  Willingness to put in additional work hours when required
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills:
•  A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering as minimum
•  Minimum of one 8 weeks of relevant proven experience or industrial training in Engineering environment. Previous underground experience preferable
•  Must be a self-starter and be very resourceful and of sober habit.
•  Good health and physical ability is a prerequisite, as is the ability to live in a remote environment with limited facilities.
•  Be flexible and adaptable and be a team player.
•  High level computer skills with standard Microsoft office programs
•  Skilled in Surpace and Autocad and other softwares
•  Able to communicate effectively at different levels of management & with stakeholders
•  Appropriate level of OH&S knowledge
•  Current Motor Vehicle license
