The Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) is the legal entity that manages community development benefits from Ok Tedi Mine operations on behalf of the people of the 158 Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) villages. OTDF is a safe, professional and innovative organisation that delivers projects to communities through a unique partnership between mining, the people and the government. OTDF is mandated to ensure wise and sustainable use and management of the wealth created from mining operations for the betterment of future generation of Western Province.
OTDF has a current vacancy for a ‘Team Leader Community Education Services’ position and seeks to engage a dynamic, competent and qualified person to be part of the team that is delivering development outcomes for the communities of Western Province.
The key role and responsibility of the Team Leader Community Education is to:
  • Plan and effectively manage the biggest decentralised Flexible Open Distance Education (FODE) service to the Community Mine Continue Agreement (CMCA) communities in Western Province.
  • Oversee and effectively manage all the scholarship programs for both Trust and Preferred Area Development.
  • Prepare, conduct and plan annual assessments, examinations, and liaise with partners for certifications on a timely basis for the students.
  • Provide effective people management and supervision of 4 dedicated staff members and encourage team dynamics for the section
  • Plan, implement and, monitor education budget performance and demonstrate accountability
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and Government to work in partnership to promote and deliver education services in the province.
Job Requirements:
The following skills, qualification, work experiences and attributes are preferred:
o      Teaching background at subject master level in Secondary schools with 5 years’ experience above
o      Must have thorough knowledge of FODE and Adult Matriculation programs
o      Demonstration of results based Monitoring and Evaluation
o      Must possess a Degree in Education and preferably with supervisory experiences
o      Must prefer to travel to remote settings down the Fly river and visit the FODE Study Centres
