VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
 
Position Title: Operations Supervisor

Organization: ADRA PNG

Location: Lae Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea
Responsible To: ADRA Country Director

Position Overview:

ADRA PNG is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day operational functions and ensure the effective management of assets, logistics, infrastructure, and support services. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, fosters strong internal coordination, and drives operational excellence to support ADRA’s mission across Papua New Guinea.

Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Team Leadership & Performance Management
  • Supervise and motivate the operations team.
  • Delegate tasks clearly and effectively.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and promote professional development.
2. Property, Asset & Resource Management
  • Oversee maintenance of ADRA properties, IT systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • Maintain and update the asset register, ensuring annual insurance renewals.
  • Coordinate with departments for optimal use of resources and project planning.
3.Fleet, Logistics & Procurement Oversight
  •  Manage the servicing, usage, and recordkeeping of ADRA vehicles.
  • Guide logistics operations with a focus on safety and cost-efficiency.
  • Support procurement and storage of materials and supplies.
4.Construction & Project Management
  • Oversee construction and maintenance projects from design to implementation.
  • Source quotes and recommend suppliers to ensure quality and cost control.
5. Security, Safety & Risk Management
  • Supervise security personnel and ensure systems are in place for property protection.
  • Lead compliance efforts with workplace safety standards and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
6. Reporting, Communication & Visibility
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership and contribute to organizational visibility.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and coordinate signage across ADRA premises.
Job Requirements:


Qualification & Experience:
 
  • Diploma/Bachelor degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in Operations or Logistics.

Criteria for the Ideal Candidate:
 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to ADRA’s mission, vision, and values in both professional conduct and decision-making.
  • Adhere to the terms and conditions contained in the ADRA Staff Handbook.
  • Possess excellent communication skills in both English and Tok Pisin, including the ability to write clear reports, keep accurate records, and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Have experience in managing operations within development or humanitarian settings, including familiarity with working in rural and remote areas.
  • Be proficient in using Microsoft Office tools—including Word, Excel, and Outlook—for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Show proven ability in operations and asset management, including logistics, procurement, fleet coordination, and property maintenance.
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership and people management skills, including mentoring staff and promoting a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Be a problem-solver with sound judgement and initiative, capable of managing risks and resolving operational issues swiftly and responsibly.
  • Have experience managing budgets and financial reporting related to logistics, assets, and utilities, ensuring cost- effective use of resources.
  • Be committed to health, safety, and security standards, with a proactive attitude toward compliance and risk mitigation.
