DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS GRADE 17
Milne Bay Administration is seeking expressions of interest for the positions of District Administrator in Milne Bay Province.
The successful candidates will be based in the following districts:- Esa’ala District (Esa’ala)
- Samarai/Murua District (Bwagaoia)
These positions offer salaries and contract allowances based on Category “B”.
Salary Range: K56,129 - K68,603 p/a
Contract Allowances: K34,033.00 p/a
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for the effective and efficient administration and management of district and local-level government operations. They will also oversee the implementation of Milne Bay
Provincial Government Laws and Policies, in alignment with the National Legal and Policy Framework. Key duties will include coordinating and supporting the activities of other national agencies in the district and
provide advice to the District Development Authority (DDA) as the CEO. Also note that the position of CEO for DDA is applicable only during DDA board meetings.
The normal duties as District Administrator resume after the board meetings.
- Advise Local Level Governments and the District Development Authority on legislative requirements for plans and policies promoting good governance.
- Ensure the timely scheduling and conduct of DDA Board meetings, in accordance with the Organic Law & District Development Authority Act.
- Ensure all administrative and functional directives from the Provincial Administrator are implemented appropriately.
- Coordinate policy and budget formulation, planning, and implementation in accordance with Section 33A and 106 of OLPG/LLG.
- Carry out the roles and functions of the Provincial Administrator, as well as those of National Departments and Agencies where applicable.
- Coordinate, supervise, and monitor staff development, ethics, and conduct in the district and LLGs; for appropriate actions.
- Compile Annual Management and Financial Management Reports for the district and LLGs to the Provincial Administrator.
