Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Freight Forwarding Officer to assist the Senior Freight Forwarder in the day-to-day operations of our freight forwarding department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods and ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team. Experience with CargoWise or a Certified CargoWise Operator will be prioritized.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Freight Forwarder in managing the transportation of goods by air, sea, and land.
Ensure that all shipments are properly documented, including packing lists, invoices, and customs declarations.
Coordinate with shipping lines, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure that shipments are cleared in a timely manner.
Monitor the movement of goods from origin to destination and ensure that any issues are addressed promptly.
Liaise with customers and suppliers to provide them with updates on the status of their shipments.
Prepare and submit reports on the status of shipments, including any delays or issues that may arise.
Manage the customs clearance process and ensure that all relevant documentation is provided to customs officials.
Ensure that all freight forwarding procedures are followed in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of all shipments and transactions.
Assist with the preparation of quotes and proposals for new business.

Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding or a related field.
Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when required.
Good time-management and organizational skills.
Certified CargoWise Operator is a big plus.
